Anyway, I've recovered from my guilt (like a boss) and now I'm just going to ramble on and on and on.
FIRST LET'S START WITH ALL THE FUN CAMPY THINGS I DID AT MY LOVELY CAMP IN A PARTICULAR ORDER CALLED "WHEN kidZ REMEMBERS THIS PARTICULAR ACTIVITY :I"
- Was THEEEEEEEEEES close to finishing climbing a wall. Unfortunately, I have no upper body strength whatsoever, so I slipped and had to be brought down. Q-Q
- Backward rappelled! Only two girls (including moi) was brave enough to hop down a 25-foot wall :I
- Mud crawled! (My clothes are ruined fo life.)
- Ropes course!
- Obstacle course!
- A Fear Factor session which included passing around a frog, drinking a chunky mysterious liquid o-o, taking a pebble out of a basin filled with DISGUSTING RED WATER FLAVORED WITH VINEGAR AND SOY SAUCE AND COOKING OIL and DISGUSTING GELATIN HEARTS FLAVORED WITH VINEGAR AND SOY SAUCE AND COOKING OIL with your MOUTH D:, taking a pebble out of a box filled with mice, taking a pebble out of a can full of worm-maggot-caterpillar-things, and climbing up a ladder and trust-falling down to your teammates' weak triceps. XD
- A clue hunt plus zombie outbreak
- Hiked with a full pitcher of water
- Ziplined in the fabulous and really cold rain ;w;
- Cooked a buttload of canned stuff which probably ruined my intestines with the lack of vitamins
- Painted a beautiful flag with my team.
- Walked a unity walk which involved being blindfolded and having my feet tied to my other teammates for goodness knows how long. (We were attacked by black ants during that activity. Not my favorite one, as you can see.)
- Played a game called Himagsikan (my mom - a semi-reliable stand-in for Google Translate - said it means something like To Rise Up) which involved a lot of running and base-claiming and mud flinging and holding of hands and getting injured. XD
- Learned a game - which, I'm happy to report, my team got ADDICTED to - called Balot. It involves knowing four Tagalog words (the word "AAAH :O" isn't really...Tagalog...o_o), lots of people (trust me, the longer the game wears on, the more fun it would be), and sheer concentration. 8I
- Put up an improvised play for Entertainment Day. (I loved Entertainment Day, particularly because it spawned the lovely shipping of POWELLE! 8D)
- And of course a lot of worship and prayers :D
Most fun experience. EVER.
And then there was the not so fun campy things I did at my lovely camp. :I I mean, as much as I like to think that camp was PERFECT, it wasn't. .-.
- Argued with my teammates. A lot. (I'm convinced that arguing is inevitably something you can't avoid in a camp full of sleep-deprived, nutrient-deprived, exhausted, and lazy campers. :I)
- Slept in a cramped tent in a huge sleeping bag with a blanket for a pillow ;___;
- Five minutes' worth of bath time. In a cramped shower stall. With a tiny shelf and two hooks to keep your stuff, which you'll surely knock over. Believe me, the worst part of it is when you're hand is about to reach the shower knob and they shout "TWO MINUTES LEFT! D:<" (I guess now I know why the penalty they gave teams when they broke rules was shorter bath time. ;__; ) Which is why most of us decided to wash our hair and faces at the sinks and enter the bathroom half-naked to save time. ;____;
- My team and I forgot to bring a bunch of stuff. Like, for example, a pan. A knife. Milk. A Thermos for hot water. Some of us even forgot to bring spoons and forks. :I
- I ruined most of my clothes for life
- The souvenir bracelet they gave me fell apart almost instantly. ;____;
- The ring that was attached to my award (I was given the Chill award. 'Cause I was always so cool. 8D) got lost. :I
Yeah. So those were my campy stories. I can't wait for our camp reunion next month. (Yes, next month, because we're not like old people who wait how-many-decades for their high school reunion .-.)
So there. Peace out.
Wow. I wouldn't be able to do any of that stuff - meh, I'm not extremely outdoor-sy, and heights freak the hell out of me. I take like half an hour in the shower, as well, so everybody would probably hate me. So I applaud you!
