Help Me Choose a Cover D:

I got sick yesterday. Still am. :I So I have a legitimate excuse for not posting yesterday.

Well, as you know, I wrote a novel for NaNoWriMo which I'm planning to publish. I still haven't revise it yet  (or gotten feedback from my critics :I), buuut first things first: choose a cover.

:D Here are my book cover options and the pros and cons about them, and what I may add to it to make it better. (They're bad doodles. I was in a hurry D: )

Option 1: Ricky is leaning on a balcony, sadly looking at a picture of Dr. Renalds

Pros: Ricky is actually a pretty insecure person who doesn't believe in herself, and to make up for it, she idolizes Dr. Renalds. This shot captures this. She's like, "OH NOZ, HE ISH GONE. WAT DO I DO NAO?!" Also, it's kind of poetic. In a good way. :3

Cons: There is no scene in the book where she looks at his picture. :I (Unless you count that moment when she looked at a poster of him, which is pretty normal for a fangirl.) And NOWHERE in the book was she leaning on a balcony. D:

I May Add: A sunset background, since red is her favorite color. (And it makes for a MORE poetic cover! :DD) I should also add in a wind, and have her hair blow away. (MORE POETIC.) I may also make it in front view, since I'm not really good in profile.

Option 2: Ricky is conversing with her different personalities, Patty and Angie.

Pros: This is an actual scene in the book. Ricky tends to dream about her talking to her alter egos. (She has multiple personality disorder, btw.) It kind of captures the different sides of her. Plus, I get to introduce the reader early on about Patty and Angie! Even though they're mostly unimportant! :D

Cons: It puts too much emphasis on Patty and Angie - who, by the way, are only seen twice or thrice in my novel. :I Plus, people might think that Ricky, Patty, and Angie are the main characters. THEY BE IGNORING SUE, EVA, AND HAROLD. D:
I May Add: Um...this is good enough for me, actually. ._.

Option 3: A dramatic picture of a dragon blowing fire on Sue. :D

Pros: Again, this was an actual scene in the book, so yay. It also captures people's attention, in my opinion. They'll be like, "Whaaat? Dragons? Burning? PEOPLES? I have to buy this book D:" (I'm so unrealistic.)

Cons: Just like the cover above, it puts too much emphasis on the dragon, not the characters. (They'll just be little silhouettes, like in the Percy Jackson covers.) AND I CAN'T DRAW DRAGONS (i ^ i)

I May Add: ...this is pretty good in my opinion. :I

Option 4: Ricky looks all shocked, and all the main characters are like flashbacks all around her

Pros: It's HERS in a nutshell. Period. At least the reader will know what to expect from the characters - plus, they would already know how everyone looks like. :D

Cons: It's. Too. CRAMPED. DDD: Plus, it pretty much says NOTHING about the story; it only speaks of the characters. :I

I May Add: Ricky lacing her hands together and looking more confused. It adds drama.

Option 5: Ricky, Eva, Harold, and Sue are staring at all the clues they have, at least at the start. It shows them looking at a newspaper (LOL look at the headline XD. It's fake btw), pics of Dr. Renalds, and flyers and stuff.

Pros:  (This is the best cover so far, so if I get no opinions, I'm using this. >:I) Again, it's HERS in a nutshell. And, again, it introduces them to the main characters. Plus, it shows just what they're trying to do: search for Dr. Renalds.

Cons: This is pretty much the exact meaning of "The Search for Dr. Renalds." This can be a good thing or a bad thing, but I say it's a bad thing in my case. I want SUSPEEEENSE. I mean, if I didn't want the reader to wonder about my story, then I wouldn't have made the title of my series HERS. (You have to read my novel to find out why it's called that, FYI. -3-) I would've called it, The Awesome and Weird Adventures of Ricky, Eva, Harold, and Sue. Dude. -_-

I May Add: A version of it in front view, so instead of seeing the back of my characters' heads, you get to see their faces. And, come to think of it, aren't newspaper headlines OUTSIDE of the newspaper, not INSIDE? :I

Well, those were all of the good options. Which one did you like the most? COMMENT. D: Pleeaaase. i'm a lonely child. lol no. jk.

How to Keep Reading Even if You Have Very Few Books to Read

(Longest...title...ever...D: )

Unfortunately for you, my older brother is using our desktop so I'm writing in our netbook. We don't have a spare mouse soooo that would mean no WFAM (Weird Facts About Me) for the moment. :I

Have some of you guys ever gotten the feeling that you want to read more but can't, mostly because your parents won't buy you any new books and you can't find any good stories?

Yeah. I've been there.

I don't read as many books as I want to (if everything was up to me, I would be able to read five medium-length books a day -.-) so I just have to make do with what I have.

The problem is, though, that I have very few books in the house. (Even if we have an entire library upstairs. Most of them are encyclopedias and science books and textbooks so I refuse to read them >:I.) And, unfortunately, I have a very good memory.

So even if you give me the entire Chronicles of Narnia series, once I read it twice or thrice, I'll have the entire story etched into my brain and I'll be bored of it. -.-

I'm constantly looking for new material to read so I wouldn't spend the whole day sniffing my feet. .__.

These are some ways I could keep reading even without spending every centavo of my savings on new books:

1. FREE KINDLE eBOOKS :D
Just goes to show that that old saying is true: The best things in life are freeeeee.

If you have no idea what Kindle is, it's a book-reading device. It's kind of like a tablet....a tablet that carries an entire library of eBooks into a sleek little device. :D Can you imagine that? You'll have hours of entertainment at your fingertips. (They're almost as good at keeping me occupied as bubble wrap!)

If, however, buying a device is just to read books is unappealing to you (why not buy an actual book instead? :OOO), you could just use Kindle Amazon.

You can download a Kindle Reader (for freeee) and then check out Amazon.com's Kindle store. You can find a whole load of totally fun eBooks there. The best part is, some of them are FREEEEE. It's like I'm shopping whenever I'm in the Kindle store, "buying" new books XDD

2. Read online!
Seriously, just because someone isn't a published author doesn't mean they aren't a great writer :I (I just happen to be one of those said great writers :3)

All you have to do is check out sites like FanFiction, Wattpad, and Storywrite to see cool stories by amazing, undiscovered writers. I've found great writers like CookieKrisp, Kouralia, and Bethany through these sites.

Want to see works by the BEST author of all? She's TOTAAALLY RADICAAAL. Click here to check out her works :3

3. Borrow books from friends

LOL. This is the most humiliating of them all but...if your best friend has Heroes of Olympus: Mark of Athena and you're just DYIIIIING to read it, why don't you borrow it from him? I mean, it's much better than dying from boredom. :/

...

I'm so cliche. D: I'M BAD AT GIVING ADVICE.
NO DON'T LOOK AT ME. I BE ASHAMED OF MYSELF. DDD:

XD lol. no. I'm cliche AND PROUD OF IT. XDD What the heck...what's with all this caps lock...

That's it for tonight, I think, unless I get back to our desktop computer and draw you dudes a bunch of WFAMs. (WFAMs. loooool.) Peace out.

Guess What?

LOL. This be what happens when I challenge myself to do stuff ._. I made two more.

I am such an awesome digital artist :D Although I admit I do have to get a pen tablet. :I I'm saving up for one though. I mean, if I don't impulse buy Harry Potter, I think I'll be able to get one by the end of March :3

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

Y'know what? I'm challenging myself to make 100 Weird Facts About Me. Complete with doodles. And awesome trivia about moi. Just so you guys can expect something new every few days.

You guys are such awesome readers (i ^ i) even though I know there are only like two or three regular readers right now. (Kid Fort only has 720 pageviews. I think I can tell that this is a dang unpopular blog. ;__;)

Unfortunately each and every fact is, well...a fact. Which means everything is true. Which means, yes, I really never have worn a hoodie ever in real life. You can pity me now.

My goal is to basically do a hundred of these pictures before the end of the year. I think I'm going to make good progress though, since these things are easy to doodle. Plus, I'm a really interesting person, so I'll have nearly no trouble thinking up one hundred weird facts about me :D

I'm guessing I can make one picture everyday. That should keep you guys busy and get me a bunch of new readers since I'm getting moar traffic. (This is Internet marketing talk. My mom taught it to me. XD)

That's all for today. Maybe. If I draw another one I'll probably post it tonight. ^^

Peeeeaaace out. :3
