It means no more homework, it means watching TV, and it means no more school.
But for me, watching shows, writing poems, creating art, and sticking to my hero books are all I need for school-free months.
But I got arty ideas that I can share with you. The Summer Straw, the Homework House, the Sunny Book and more!
Summer Straw
Bend colorful pipe cleaners (you know, chenille stems) together.
You can make a flower or a monster or a star or a superhero or even your name!
Anyway, try looping a hole in your design so it can be pushed in the straw.
Push in straw and you'll have a wonderful sipping straw!
Homework House
Hehehe, remember those failed test papers you had?
You can ask your teacher for your old ones and start recycling!
Fold those papers equally, like a card.
You can cut doors or windows and etcetera.
When your papers aren't standing, (even though they are, it's important to) wrap them in old, inky newspapers.
Before wrapping the newspapers around 'ya house, coat them in water and glue, stick 'em, and let it dry to make a wood-textured house.
Tip: If you DID make doors and stuff on your homework house, cut one on the newspaper as well.
After they dry, paint them.
Let dry again.
Now it's ready for display or ready to be a great dollhouse for your little sister's paper dolls!
Sunny book
Like to make a good ol' comic book or a notebook?
Especially on summer?
All you have to do is simple.
Design a design on cardboard, handmade paper, construction paper, etcetera.
Now make another one for the back.
Pile up the comic strips or blank paper and staple 'em between the back and the front.
Last word, if 'ya makin' a comic book, it's best to staple blank paper, THEN draw the strips.
Bottlefly
Try making a butterfly.... out of bottle pieces!
Get some old mineral water bottles, or you can get some colorful bottles to use.
Using a knife, or scissors (ask daddy or mommy to help you with this), or your hands, tear up the bottle to pieces.
Glue them together when you made the bottle wings.
Now, search for rolled up grocery lists.
Paint them brown or yellow and glue brown chenille stems on top.
Glue them to the wings and be prepared.......when your sister finds it, she might ask for a game of Butterfly Princess!
Fruity Pop
Phew! Staying in the sun is really hot!
Why don't you set up shop and sell pops or freeze 'em up and lick them at home?
It's so fruity, the fruits will "explode in your mouth"!
In a blender, blend some yogurt, your favorite fruit, bananas and milk (If you aren't a fruit person, add a teaspoon of sugar)
Transfer the fruity mix in popsicle molds and freeze for an hour.
When you taste 'em, you will wish this article was printed on your hand.
Well, happy craft-makin'!
